Hunter has Lymphoma

I have decided to start a blog to follow Hunter's (possible) treatment and how Mr. Hunt is doing.  Mostly I am doing this because I feel lost and don't have a clue what I should do.  I wish one of the vets would just walk in and say ok, write a check for $X and we will start treatment Monday.

We went to the oncologist yesterday and she gave us three options, tier 1, tier 2 or the take it one day at a time route.  Of course all three options came with a price tag but I don't want to put a bounty on my dogs head, I want to do the right thing by him.  However, without a time machine and a good psychic there is no way to know what that is.

Do we do the aggresive treatment?  The average dog lives 12-18 months with this $5k option.  No brainer, lets do it.  Or there is the less agressive $2K treatment which doesn't require IV drugs and is a little easier on the system, Hunter is 13 and this should help us get 6-9 more month quality time with him.  OK, maybe this is the way to go.  Please someone just tell me what to do.  I will sell my plasma if it keeps the vet bills paid but someone needs to tell me what to do.

Sorry for the drive by post.  I will set up the blog and put more background information up later today.
